Watch: Rain pours while pilgrims perform Umrah in Makkah’s Grand Mosque

Much to the relief of locals residents and pilgrims performing Umrah at Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, rain began pouring over the city on Friday, February 9.

The rainfall comes after Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer were performed throughout the Kingdom on Thursday, February 1.

A video shared on social media platforms showed several people braving the rain during their tawaf (circumambulation) ritual around the holy Kaaba. While others prayed in the rain, raising their hands to supplicate to Allah.

Earlier on Friday, the Saudi National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicted moderate to heavy thunderstorms, torrential rains, active winds, and hail showers in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah regions.
